💬 About Lake Georgetown
Lake Georgetown is a 1,310-acre reservoir managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the North Fork San Gabriel River, just northwest of Georgetown in Williamson County. The lake and surrounding lands provide an exceptional outdoor recreation destination for all of Central Texas. Water recreation includes motorized boating, water skiing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming at designated areas. Fishing produces largemouth bass, white bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish. Multiple developed campgrounds offer tent and RV camping with varying levels of hookups and amenities. On land, the 26-mile Good Water Trail circumnavigates the lake and is popular with hikers and mountain bikers. Day use fees apply for some areas; national recreation passes are honored.
