Commuting to Austin
The IH-35 commute from Round Rock into Austin is real and must be planned around. Northbound out of Austin in the evening rush (4-7pm) is the worst direction — budget 45-60 minutes for what would be a 25-minute off-peak drive. The MetroRail Red Line connects the Round Rock area to downtown Austin and is genuinely useful for downtown office workers.
